For the first time since the foundation of the Sofia Brotherhood, an extended meeting of its Board and founders was held (online).
At the meeting, the chairman of the Board of the organization archpriest Oleksandr Kolb took the floor to analyze the activities of the Brotherhood during the previous period.
The importance of the development of the Brotherhood’s information department was emphasized during the speech of the Director of the Office, archpriest Serhiy Prokopchuk.
The participants of the meeting also listened to the report of Andrii Smyrnov, which was devoted to the plan of the Brotherhood’s activities for the next year.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to create:
1. Commission for liturgical translations;
2. Youth Worship Commission;
3. Commission of church chant and hymnography.
In addition, it is planned to hold three regional meetings during the year, devoted to topical issues of Ukrainian Orthodoxy, as well as the summer youth camp “Sofia” with the participation of young people from the UOC and OCU.
They decided to hold the first meeting in one of the western regions of Ukraine – it will be devoted to the issue of the development of liturgical languages of Kyivan tradition: Ukrainian and Kyiv pronunciation.
Applications of candidates for membership of the Brotherhood and its Friends were also considered at the meeting of the Board. By decision of the Board, 17 new members of the Brotherhood and 13 Friends were accepted.
