A young woman enters a church to pray. It’s her first time here, so she doesn’t know many of the customs or rules.

Once I read a quote in the book “Conversations on Spiritual Motherhood” attributed to the late Holy Father Francis: “Every true shepherd must smell like his sheep.”

Sometimes we try to break through the thickest ice and be active in serving God and the Church in every possible area—regardless of whether we are truly gifted or simply doing a poor imitation.

Once, my heart was returning to God. Because… because it simply could no longer live without Him. It was dying. It was wounded and bleeding…

When someone wants to build a house on new land, they first consult specialists. They test the soil, check for underground waters. Without that, a solid foundation cannot be poured.

Sometimes we must at least try to remove the stain ourselves—but in collaboration with God, for the path of repentance and holiness is a shared journey.

Sometimes we think of sin as just a system failure, an error we can correct on our own — while in reality, it wounds our will.
