On February 9, the Annual General Meeting of the non-governmental organization Sophia Brotherhood was held online via Zoom.
During the meeting, members of the Brotherhood reviewed the results of the past year and adopted several important decisions in accordance with the Organization’s Statute.
The first item on the agenda was the report of the Chair of the Board, Archpriest Oleksandr Sorokin, on the activities of the Sophia Brotherhood in 2025. The report covered the projects that had been implemented as well as initiatives planned for the upcoming period.
New Chair of the Board
The second item on the agenda was the election of a new Chair of the Board (in accordance with the Statute, for a one-year term).
By an overwhelming majority of votes (85%), Maryna Burdeina, a representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, was elected Chair of the Board of the Sophia Brotherhood.
Amendments to the Statute
The participants of the meeting also approved amendments to the Organization’s Statute. From now on:
- The Chair of the Organization is elected from among the members of the Board for a three-year term;
- The General Assembly (Veche) is considered quorate if more than 50% of the members of the Organization are present.
